Enjoy an evening of KIRTAN!
Kirtan is the yoga of sound made visible through the heart. It is not merely music, nor performance, nor entertainment. It is remembrance.
In kirtan, one voice calls a sacred name or mantra, and many voices answer. The mind, which is usually scattered among a thousand concerns, is gently gathered into one stream. Breath joins rhythm, rhythm joins feeling, and feeling joins presence. Over time, the boundary between the singer, the song, and the listening begins to soften.
*This is a donation-based event. We want this to be as accessible as possible, so even if you can't donate, know that we won't turn anyone away!*
Come sing in community! All are welcome!
About Kirtan
Kirtan is an ancient Bhakti yoga (devotional) practice involving call-and-response chanting of sacred mantras and divine names, often accompanied by music. Originating in India, it serves as a form of meditation in motion designed to open the heart, calm the mind, and foster community connection, regardless of musical skill.
